First American Autism Award
The first court award in a vaccine-autism claim is a big one. CBS News has learned the family of Hannah Poling will receive more than $1.5 million dollars for her life care; lost earnings; and pain and suffering for the first year alone. In addition to the first year, the family will receive more than $500,000 per year to pay for Hannah's care. Those familiar with the case believe the compensation could easily amount to $20 million over the child's lifetime. Hannah was described as normal, happy and precocious in her first 18 months. Then, in July 2000, she was vaccinated against nine diseases in one doctor's visit: measles, mumps, rubella, polio, varicella, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, and Haemophilus influenzae. Afterward, her health declined rapidly. – CBS

Free-Market Analysis: Earlier this year, we interviewed the courageous Dr. Andrew Wakefield who has claimed for more than a decade that a certain segment of the juvenile population may be overly-sensitive to vaccines and either ought not to be given them, or ought to be exposed with great care. Here we have a little girl who received a viral cocktail of NINE separate diseases in one dose. Wakefield, it should be pointed out was concerned over children receiving two or three separate vaccinations at once.
The CBS report (excerpted above) spawned a lively thread debating the pros and cons of the settlement. Here's how the article puts it, "In acknowledging Hannah's injuries, the government said vaccines aggravated an unknown mitochondrial disorder Hannah had which didn't 'cause' her autism, but 'resulted' in it. It's unknown how many other children have similar undiagnosed mitochondrial disorder. All other autism 'test cases' have been defeated at trial. Approximately 4,800 are awaiting disposition in federal vaccine court."
It is of course strange that America has a vaccine court at all. One would think that the straightforward mechanisms of American justice would suffice. But apparently they do not. Here's how Wikipedia describes the creation of the "vaccine court."
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services set up the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) in 1988 to compensate individuals and families of individuals injured by covered childhood vaccines. The VICP was adopted in response to a scare over the pertussis portion of the DPT vaccine. These claims were later generally discredited, but some U.S. lawsuits against vaccine makers won substantial awards; most makers ceased production, and the last remaining major manufacturer threatened to do so.
The VICP uses a no-fault system for resolving vaccine injury claims. Compensation covers medical and legal expenses, loss of future earning capacity, and up to $250,000 for pain and suffering; a death benefit of up to $250,000 is also available. If certain minimal requirements are met, legal expenses are compensated even for unsuccessful claims. Since 1988, the program has been funded by an excise tax of 75 cents on every purchased dose of covered vaccine.
To win an award, a claimant must show a causal connection; if medical records show a child has one of several listed adverse effects soon after vaccination, the assumption is that it was caused by the vaccine. The burden of proof is the civil-law preponderance-of-the-evidence standard, in other words a showing that causation was more likely than not. Denied claims can be pursued in civil courts, though this is rare.
We are not sure if this vaccine court decision represents the beginning of a trend, as the court has already thrown out lawsuits that link the vaccine preservative thiomersal to austism. Of course, in our interview with Dr. Wakefield, he did not mention thiomersal as the potential culprit for autism but was emphatic that the problems came from "viral cocktails." The vaccine court decision follows on the heels of other setbacks to Big Pharma, which routinely maintains that vaccines have never been proven to hurt children. But we recently reported on the suspension of swine flu vaccine programs in Finland and Sweden. After this report, it emerged that other countries including Nepal were suspending swine flu vaccinations because of suspicions that the vaccine was causing narcolepsy. During our interview with Dr. Wakefield, he mentioned a new book he'd written, Callous Disregard, which he called, "a story about what happened behind the scenes, the documentary evidence that has revealed the hypocrisy, the lies, the deception, and the double dealing that has lead to the circumstances of which I find myself now. It is a story also about the introduction by the British government of an unsafe vaccine in the late 1980s, which they knew to be unsafe at the time."
At the time of the interview (and for years before) we believed that the growing prevalence of vaccine medicine seemed at least questionable given various health controversies. Certainly, there seems to us to be no doubt that giving tiny children a "nine vaccine" cocktail might be detrimental to the health of some. But so degraded has Western medicine become that such practices are assumed to be appropriate because "experts" see no problems with it – experts unfortunately often employed by Big Pharma itself. Of course, there really is no such thing as an "expert," but industries will continue to try to promote certain people and bodies of work as infallible so long as they can get away with it.
Conclusion: The power elite, in our view, has a special affection for vaccine programs. The more emphatically efficacious it can make vaccines seem, the more ability the elite has to promote a variety of vaccine programs without significant push-back. We are also aware that population control is high on the elite agenda. We would not be surprised at some point if global-elite health organizations eventually promote certain kinds of vaccines as a population control device.

I have a 4 year old daughter who has not been vaccinated through traditional means. Instead, our naturopathic doctor gave her a series of homeopathic vaccinations. She is much healthier and happier than other children her age. By the way, I am not a "New Age" person, just a concerned and well-read parent.
Also, I had a flu-shot once, at age 25. I got the flu. I haven't been back and haven't had the flu. Pretty simple, really...

Ironic how the day this article was posted by the Daily Bell, Click to view link started sharing a "news" story about how mercury and other additives in childhood shots has been proven not to cause Autism... I have been sharing this Autism concern with others recently, as I just had a child of my own.
There is so much opposing literature out there (and quite convincing as it has been written by "Doctors") that it makes some immunization decisions difficult. The idea of a nine in one shot is quite scary, and not one that I would allow to happen to my own daughter.
Unfortunately, there are also many shots that you can not get singly anymore.... with the state (USA) requiring so many shots for your children to even participate in anything anymore, choices are restricted as to how to handle the situation. We are trying to research our way through the maze, and really appreciate this additional article analysis regarding by the Bell. Thanks you, we look forward to more of your excellent evaluations.

Often overlooked in discussions of this type is the dramatic increase in a myriad of other immune mediated diseases associated with the date 1990. The problem is much bigger than Autism alone.
As of 1990 the incidence of a number of immune system mediated diseases increased dramatically including Diabetes Mellitus, Eczema, Asthma, Food Allergies, Autism spectrum disorders, and Autism itself among others. Prior to 1990 these disorders were rare in the pediatric population, and the population at large for that matter. These diseases are much more debilitating and chronic than the often very treatable infectious diseases that vaccines are supposed to prevent.
In 1990 the vaccine schedule went from sixteen to thirty eight with most inoculations before the age of three. Notably this increase was NOT in response to any significant threat or risk of increasing infectious disease.
Vaccines act on the immune system. Epidemiology and pathophysiology relate increased vaccination to an entire group of diseases that as a whole have created a plague afflicting our children. This has taken place without any credible safety studies carried out independently from the Pharmaceutical Industry which profits greatly from the use of vaccines.
How does this happen? Just as spontaneously as any organization of interests in the quest for profit. Evaluate the insurance industry defined reimbursement for that nine vaccine cocktail compared to the reimbursement for any other pediatric service and you'll likely get the idea of how the perverse can become common. It is very unlikely that was the only child exposed or injured in such a way but like every thing in biology the effect can be varied and often overlooked or effectively explained away.
Yes this goes on without any secret meetings or memos. The entire industry, falls into line. Its not difficult to see who gets rewarded with wealth and/ or title and just as easy to fall into line for the rewards the establishment has to offer. Interestingly and compellingly the discussion always breaks down into for and against safety inquires. The against group is represented by a plethora of Big Pharma sponsored establishment titles of every degree and lofty designation while those asking for common sense safely data are simply parents and occasionally a bold but financially humble and unsung local physician. If you want the money or the title fall in line or be marginalized.
The Horror of this situation is difficult to quantify. Heros wanted and direly needed in what already is a life and death struggle between a thoroughly corrupted corporate establishment and the individual. The corruption is ultimately animated by fiat currency with central banking providing the power source to a mercantilistic system whose tentacles have reached and infected every aspect of our lives and is already strangling the life out of our next generation.

This article underlines for me the reason i never vaccinated ANY of my children for anything. I consider all vaccines as more dangerous than any of the diseases they are supposed to prevent, at least for those who are reasonably prudent in seeing that their children eat GOOD DIETS based on fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains with limited amount of meat and dairy, avoidance of processed foods as much as possible etc.
I was personally impacted by this as a child, temporarily paralyzed (unable to walk) for several weeks after a diptheria/pertusis shot as a child of 8-9 years of age and still have some lingering effects at 72!
As a teenager I read everything I could about the dangers of vaccines and a then prominent book; Eleanor McBeans POISONED NEEDLE (now unfortunately)out of print greatly influenced my views, but then common sense tells us that GOOD NUTRITION is still the BEST protection against disease.
The germ theory of disease is badly flawed, bacteria, germs, viruses are not the CAUSE of a disease just because they are detected as being present, they are in effect mother natures garbage disposal system, they only proliferate when BODY CONDITIONS warrant, in other words when BAD DIETS have produced a toxic condition in the body. Foreign proteins and chemicals, let alone poisons like mercury used as a preservative, only ADD to the bodies toxic load.
In my informed opinion, (years of extensive study of both sides of the question) I believe all drugs and vaccines are POISONS doing more harm than good, with the industries mantra of weighing the risks VS benefits falling on the side of risks outweighing any potential benefits.
I guess that is WHY I grow most of my own food organically and have never been to a medical doctor as an adult, or even taken any over the counter medications, not even an aspirin. The drug industry has made no profits on me and never will, there are better NATURAL solutions.

Have a friend that had a baby in the early 1990s. He was a few months old. She took him for something called a MMR vaccination, and about two weeks later, he was dead. He contracted Menengitis, or so the medical establishment says. His dad and I both think, to this day, it was the vaccine that caused it, as he was not like this before he went for the shot. Going to a funeral for a 3 month old baby is no picnic; and it is even worse when it is a funeral caused by these filthy needles full of poison!

The sole reason for special purpose courts such as Vaccine Courts or tax courts is to set up a due process such that basic assumptions (such as compulsion is servitude, income tax is ILLEGAL and slavery) cannot be challenged.

It is interesting to note that Jack Doubleday, Director
Natural Woman, Natural Man, Inc., back in 2001 offered $20,000 to the first MD or Pharmaceutical CEO to publicly drink the additives in a vaccination.
He said, "They must agree to drink a body-weight calibrated dose of the poisonous vaccine additives that M.D.s routinely inject into children in the name of health." He has increased the amount monthly and as of May, 2009, offer was up to $195,000! He has had inquiries, but no "ingesters" in 8 years!
"The mixture will not contain viruses or bacteria dead or alive, but will contain standard vaccine additive ingredients in their usual forms and proportions. The mixture will include, but will not be limited to, the following ingredients: thimerosal (a mercury derivative), ethylene glycol (antifreeze), phenol (a disinfectant dye), benzethonium chloride (a disinfectant), formaldehyde (a preservative and disinfectant), and aluminum."
Dr. Mercola, states other ingredients in most vaccinations include: "animal tissues: pig blood, horse blood, rabbit brain, dog kidney, monkey kidney, chick embryo & human diploid cells (originating from human aborted fetal tissue)".
How in the world can this witch's brew, injected into our veins, bypassing all of our body's filtering systems, possibly be thought to be beneficial by any Thinking person, is beyond my comprehension! The Power Elite is at it again, and to think they will soon be making them mandatory.

I've always felt the vaccine-autism link to be something of a red herring. It's far more likely that the ongoing spike in developmental disorders, apart from simply better diagnostic measures, is caused by increasing methylmercury levels, a known and proven bio-accumulative neurotoxin, in the environment introduced by metal and alkali processing and coal combustion (incidentally also used in the 70s as an ingredient in many vaccines).
On top of that, we have all manner of industrial poisons floating around in the atmosphere which, while relatively "harmless" on their own (according to corporate and government funded studies; I tend to be more skeptical) but in which the accumulation and combination of all on a developing brain have not been researched in any academic sense, but sense it's within legally acceptable emissions guidelines, your right to pursue legal action is nullified. Therefore, I'd say that if you really wanted to slow the percentages of children with Autism, you'd start taking a serious look at all the bio-accumulative crap we pump into the environment and it's affects on mothers and their children, both in utero and in their early years.
Vaccination is still fundamentally a good idea, but we must be wary of the kinds of corners Big Pharma is willing to cut in order to increase it's own profitability. Having said that, I'd never get the flu vaccine.

I recommend all ask for medical records when they have seen a physician or admitted to hospital to keep in case their is a problem do at once as patient records belong to patient. Family ask for child records.
Records free if asked for immediately otherwise their will be a charge. Vaccinations have been a blessing in past perhaps some of problems may be due to drugs that have been produced out of country. Eventually all record according to Obama care will belong to government. take heed .

Too bad the field is riven with such sloppy epistemology and obvious political/social bias. There is much to learn from Altmeyer's work. It goes far in helping to understand some of the 'Little Hitlers' one encounters. But they had to invent a pretzelized knot of inversions in order to associate those who advocate freedom as authoritarian types. Too bad. It sullies the truths they have discovered.
One of the main threats to our survival and liberty is the failure of people to teach children at a young age how to resist authority.

First, my heart goes out to all those children who have been abused by their doctors as a result of the vaccine regimen. They never asked to be born in the first place and certainly had no say in the all the chemical cocktails they are subjected to in the early part of their lives.
The problems that Dr. Wakefield pointed out in giving multiple types of drugs in untested combinations only makes common sense. Yet, the current state of the character of most Internists and GPs appears to display an immunity to common sense. This, I assume, they have gotten in Medical School, which is dominated by Big Pharma.
As Chris F points out above, they have also developed a bad case of insensitivity too. As he experienced, they hate to be contradicted by a mere consumer of their services. This betrays the symptoms of hubris that is the consequence of an Authoritarian Personality Complex (APC).
It is safe to say that the prognosis for improvement in these shortcoming in the Health Care Industry, given the coming of Obama Care, is not good. What can we do?
Staying away from doctors as much as possible is a first line of defense. Using the Internet to do all your initial research is a must. Second and third opinions are not optional, your life will likely depend on getting them. Stay fit. Cancer is very much an immune system disorder. Avoid hormone system disruptors and stay informed as to the evolving research in that area as to what they are.
Politically, get to your Townhalls with any of the people running for public office and put their feet to the fire concerning regulating vitamins and food supplements. Make them address the issue of freedom of choice in health care. Also, make them disclose their position on alternative medicine, prevention, and diet.
If it is your body when it comes to deciding to have or not to have an abortion, it should be no less your body when it comes to vaccines, or any other of the numerous procedures and drugs they prescribe to you.
Taking back our power from Professional Medicine is no less important than taking our power back from the State.

I wouldn't be surprised if they add ingredients to existing vaccines that sterilize the population that receives those vaccines. Do what I did when my doctor recommended that I receive the flu vaccine last year. Ask to see the box that the vaccine came in so that you can review the list of ingredients. My doctor got so nervous and defensive that it was almost hilarious. I never did get to see the box and I didn't have to say No to the flu vaccine, he quickly wrapped up that visit.
PS. I never went back to him after that.
