Naughty NATO Plans on Fibbing Themselves into the “Free World”

Naughty NATO members met in Washington this week to discuss the “free” world. One of the big new initiatives was the issue of cyber defense and disinformation. With new funding and plans to take down disinformation efforts by countries that differ in values, NATO’s leaders will finally be able to tell their citizens that they are free to think for themselves.

 

The Epoch Times reports:

 

NATO to Launch Initiatives on Ukraine, AI, Disinformation, and Cyber

U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has revealed NATO, along with four partner nations, will launch new initiatives around Ukraine, artificial intelligence, disinformation, and cybersecurity.

“Each initiative is different, but the main goal is the same: Harness the unique strengths of highly capable democracies to address shared global challenges,” he told the NATO Summit Defense Industry Forum on July 9.

 

The new center of operations for integrated cyber defense will most likely be located at SHAPE, a Supreme Headquarters where information can be verified, secured and fact-checked closest to the secure French border.

NATO to Establish Cybersecurity Center in Europe Amid Rising Digital Threats

“NATO has announced plans to establish a new cybersecurity center in Europe aimed at safeguarding member states against sophisticated digital threats.

Unveiled during the organization’s recent summit in Washington, D.C., the forthcoming Integrated Cyber Defense Center (ICDC) is poised to enhance NATO’s network resilience, situational awareness, and operational capabilities across various scenarios, from peacetime to crisis and conflict.

The ICDC’s mandate encompasses critical functions such as facilitating secure data-sharing among military leaders to address vulnerabilities in NATO’s cyber domain. Additionally, the center will provide strategic support for safeguarding essential cyber infrastructures vital to national defense efforts.

Confirming its location at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Mons, Belgium, NATO outlined plans to integrate civilian and military personnel alongside industry experts within the ICDC framework. This collaborative approach aims to leverage cutting-edge technologies for heightened situational awareness and collective defense resilience in cyberspace.”

 

NATO and the United States will get to deal with less disinformation.

For example, names will not be mistaken.

 

 

And policy, implementation, and good old fashioned git’r done politics will be clearly attributed to the person who got’r done.

Without clarification ever needing to be made at press conference the next day.

 

 

Citizens won’t need to remember because the information will be secure.

 

 

Jokes aside, can NATO members, not protect their own government’s infrastructure? This is more taxpayer funding going towards initiatives governments could pay for themselves without having to create extra layers of complexity. Then again, NATO itself is distraction from that additional spending. And it is more inclined to create the illusion that somehow, no matter what NATO says, is on the side of the “free world.”
